ABOUT VANGUARD BICYCLES [SINGAPORE]
Vanguard is a Singapore-based design studio that specialises in the design of unique one-off bicycles, as well as in the customisation and restoration of classic rides and collectors’ pieces. Vanguard’s approach is based on design authenticity and a hands-on approach to building unique, personalised bicycles. Taking inspiration from art, architecture, music, and the proportions of classic bicycles and motorcycles, each bike is treated as unique kinetic sculpture/architecture with a distinct character and personality. Each is bike named and its design often stems from a feeling, an emotion, or an encounter in the city.
Vanguard bikes are designed in Singapore, and hand-sculpted by Vanguard’s affiliated teams in Singapore and Portland, USA. Every bike goes through a rigorous design, fabrication, and assembly process to ensure the best quality and finest work possible.
Vanguard has been featured in a number of magazines and publications, and has also participated in a number of exhibitions (under parent company Angelus Novus Studio), including the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2008.
