In the 1990’s, if you owned a mountain bike there was a few elements that it featured on it’s steel tubes, and one that resonates louder than any other was splatter paint schemes.
These outwardly messy and unique designs forced the eye to look with pops of contrasting colour, and while seem simple are complex and laborious to execute well. These designs translated far and wide to what I’d still consider the ultimate in vogue from that era – The Mumbo.

There’s plenty of antique and vintage frames to be found in Europe — the birthplace of the bicycle — and they’re fair game for the ingenuous and engineering mind of Teun Timmermans.
